Someone was giving away this 42" 1080p TV. My highest resolution computer monitor was 1280x800 so naturally I jumped and had Michaela pick it up in the Mustang while I was at work. Pardon the mess, I had to shovel things in every direction to make room. Assetto Corsa gonna blow minds now.

That is not a proper monitor installation.

But computer monitors are better at being computer monitors.

It’s great. I’m pretty pleased, though it took me roughly a half hour to get my damn video card to output the right refresh rate.

The computer actually used to live in the hutch on the lower left but now it sits behind the TV for easier access to all the ports on the back.

You remind me of my freshman room mate’s Commodore 64. The color monitor was actually more of a TV without the tuner. We would hook the VCR up to it and watch movies. Ah, memories...

Tonight? I’m not doing much, though the girlfriend won’t be at work and will likely want to watch TV if I give her enough warning I can probably get away with a few hours.

That was a great monitor. Even though I hadn’t fired up the C64 in ages (although I did emulate one on the Mac frequently to play M.U.L.E.), I kept that monitor around for use on my A/V setup for years and years, finally giving it away when I moved in 2012.

Dang - free 42" screen? I’m still using grandma’s hand-me-down 26 incher...

Amen. There were so many things to love about Commodore.
